Just like hiding vegetables in your kids food, this book cleverly introduces exercise and yoga in a fun way by encouraging the little ones to copy Little Mouse and his friend Mr. Opus the cat as they try out some fun yoga poses before going out trick or treating.

Excellent illustrations and nice rhyming couplets make this a great book for kids

Are you looking for more fun and a healthy way to get your child or children to enjoy Halloween? Well, maybe this new book soon to be coming out will do the trick. “Halloween Yoga” is a sweet and cute addition to a book. It occurs during Halloween. It’s little mouse’s favorite time of year; What yoga pose will little mouse and his best friend learn from the McDowell family and friends.

I wonder what kind of Halloween yoga poses Tammy and her friends learn that are Halloween-related. Children will learn new poses but also enjoy this book as they read. This book shows how to stay calm before going trick or treating.

Can you child or children guess what the pose will be? This book continues to help children with different situations and the poses that change during each adventure. Children will learn that wellness and health will keep each child or children calm and enjoy their experience.

In each book in this series, Children learn different kinds of poses to do or enjoy. Little Mouse adventures are enjoyable to all to read—what an excellent book to add to your collection of books; or your yoga classrooms. Children can love reading about the little mouse and his best friend. Children can learn some not-so-spooky, and Halloween-themed yoga poses to try and stay calm.

I really enjoyed this book, I read it to my 4 year old grandson and he stayed interested throughout the story. Little Mouse and Mr. Opus are cute characters . Their adventure in the park taught some very good lessons about quieting your mind and staying calm in difficult and Scarry situations. Also about sharing your day with family and telling them what you have learned. Very good children's book. I recommend highly.

I entered a giveaway a couple of months ago and this is one of the books I won, although I don't quite know *how* as I'm pretty sure this wasn't one of my selections.

Anyway, it's a picture book about a yoga-loving mouse and his cat friend tagging along on a girl's field trip to the zoo; there the mouse sees a variety of animals and assumes poses that mimic them. It almost goes without saying that this isn't about yoga the ancient spiritual discipline, but yoga the means of getting affluent suburbanites to spend money on silly clothes.

Emma Allen's illustrations are cute, but I think the only thing the target audience will get out of this is that they should be allowed to take their pets on field trips, too.½

Looking for a series or a good children book that may help with stress or stress-related things? Well, this book takes a look at a way to help your child or children. I love the way you can use yoga to help with emotions and stress.

This one is done well. It fun and enjoyable. Your child or yourself can learn from Little mouse adventure in the park. Your child or children will learn some good life lessons as well. Parents and grandparents will enjoy the book as well.

The pictures are fun. They are also enjoyable to look at as well. I see the problem solving throughout this book. The lesson taught in the book helps children learn a skill in their real world as well. Grandparents and parents alike will enjoy having the teaching of yoga and life lesson that children learn at a young age.

We know children get excited or scared. This book teaches about breathing and how to calm the mind in a fun and learnable experience.

Are you looking for a good book for your children to learn to destressed? Well, Yoga at the Zoo does this though a cute way. Two main animals go on adventures. It quite fun to see and how to learn to calm down using Yoga poses.

Little Mouse sees his human friend and watches her and her mother. You will find this adventure sweet and silly. But maybe some animals do use some Yoga poses. Little Mouse seems intrigued once he hears where his human friend is going with her class. Little Mouse's best friend comes along as well.

The author does quite well with the story. I think the pictures are well done. I love how they show the poses. You will want this book along with the second one for your child or children.

It a good way to teach children exercises. It also a good calming yourself as well.

Cute characters and a laid-back, fun setting create a wonderful atmosphere for young listeners to learn a tiny bit about yoga.

Little Mouse lives in a burrow and has a warm, calm life. His best friend, Mr. Opus, is a cat next door and sometimes, they watch the family there practice yoga. Sometimes, Little Mouse even tries the poses himself. When the girl goes to the zoo on a school field trip, he and Mr Opus tag along—Little Mouse is so curious about the other animals! There they not only meet new friends but have a little fun as well.

Little Mouse and his friend, Mr Opus, the cat, are a lovely duo. The book starts with a quick glance at Little Mouse's life in the burrow and visiting Mr. Opus. While many yoga books for kids concentrate heavy on the yoga and dive right in, this one takes more of a traditional tale form, allowing Little Mouse and Mr. Opus to develop as true characters. There's a lovely plot as Little Mouse gets a chance to take his first trip to the zoo...leaving yoga as a secondary message, which slides right along with the tale.

The illustrations are very well done and add lots of little details. We enjoyed just gazing at these and enjoying each scene. The characters are nicely depicted and the tale comes to life on every page.

As to the yoga, this book surprised me. While yoga is definitely present and listeners will want to try the poses themselves, the aspect is actually pretty subtle. It's lightly explained that yoga calms and helps clear the mind, but this is built wonderfully into the story and not preached. The different poses aren't delivered in clear, instructive form, but also flow right along with the story. For example, the giraffe stretches his neck to eat leaves, speaks to Little Mouse, who then stretches his neck too. But it's built in so seamlessly, that it's not blatantly clear that they are illustrating a yoga pose. Especially young listeners are lead into yoga in this way without feeling like they're being forced.

This is a great introduction to a series, and it will be fun to see where it goes next and how the author continues in this path.

Even though this is a book that is geared towards children, I found myself getting a lot out of it. I like how beautiful the illustrations were, and they really helped me to visualize how the poses should look in their proper context. It's a cute, rhyming book that shows children how much fun (and beneficial) yoga can be for them.

This book is a companion to ABCs of Yoga for Kids, a picture book that uses the alphabet, rhyming and colorful illustrations to introduce children to yoga.

This book has a few cute ideas for classes for kids relying heavily on the ABC's of yoga book. If you are new to teaching yoga or someone just starting out teaching yoga to kids this is a nice companion book that gives some great explanations as to how yoga can help children with Autism, ADHD, and also just the every day stress that kids these days have. There are great ideas for activities that unplug kids and teach them ways to help move their bodies, learn breath techniques and meditations that can help them throughout life. Children who learn these techniques early in life will have lifelong skills to help them relieve stress and bring awareness to their bodies. Yoga also helps teach kids about living a healthy lifestyle in a fun and non-competitive way.

This is a nice starter book for teacher or parents of young children who would like to incorporate some fun stress relieving movement into a classroom. Even in a normal everyday school schedule a 10 minute break doing a few of these fun exercises can really help kids focus and retain more.

Activities are described a little vaguely so I would suggest you are familiar with the ABC's of Yoga for Kids book. Since the poses names are the ones used in her book and not necessarily the mainstream yoga pose name you may not know what pose she is talking about. There are several illustrations of poses in the book but I still suggest buying this book as a set instead of on its own.

I feel like many of these activities would be good for pre-school to kindergarten age children.

I was sent a copy of the book for review though Net Galley, as always, all opinions are my own.

I’m a huge fan of anything that helps keep children active and this book certainly does that, my toddler had a blast working through all of the poses. The illustrations are fun although those who study yoga may notice some discrepancy among the names used for the poses and that many of the poses aren't really poses at all. Even though I study yoga myself I don't find that this bothers one bit, it’s a great way to engage my son in something that keeps him active during the long winter months.

This children's book introduces yoga poses to children in the form of the ABC's using short, rhyming descriptions and instructions of each colorful, illustrated pose.

This is an incredible book for families! The children in the illustrations are realistic, and diverse, which I feel helps all children with connecting with the those in the book! The illustrations are magical and colorful, and I was impressed with the way the author could effectively teach a child how to do a pose, in a way that didn't feel like learning, and all with a rhyming that didn't seem forced or overdone! Some of the poses were made-up, but all incorporated balance, relaxation, flexibility and/or strength. While looking through it, I could feel my younger self fill up with wonder and excitement with the discovery of new ways to move my body. I will definitely be purchasing this book for my (future) children! I think it'd be a wonderful book for them to read and incorporate on their own, and the enticing illustrations will do just that!
