Good selection of steak, roast and stew recipes with some interesting ideas that can be easily varied. The recipes range from simple to intricate, ingredients usually don't go overboard. A few too many venison recipes.

Most classics are present, as well as a number of more unusual and rare cocktails, with a special section for non-alcoholic drinks. The recipes generally require a well-stocked bar and occasionally call for seldom-used ingredients. In addition to the drinks, recipes for quick snacks are included.

Good entry-level cross-section of Thai recipes, somehwat dominated by seafood. The recipes are easy to follow, and the amount of more unusual ingredients is limited. Care is taken that ingredients are not solely used for one recipe. As usual with this series, each recipe gets either one or two pages and pictures are always included.

Some of the recipes here are too simple to be included - ham and eggs should not show up in a recipe book - but mostly the selection is good as far as German cuisine is concerned. There's a lack of Austrian and Swiss recipes, and almost no vegetarian options aside from desserts.
