Athens Clay Pullias (1910–1985)

Athens Clay Pullias was president of David Lipscomb College (today Lipscomb University) from 1946-1977, the longest-serving president of any college associated with the churches of Christ. During his tenure the college transitioned from a two-year to a four-year program, dramatically increased the number of faculty with terminal degrees, and secured accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
