The horror is of the grosser kind, and difficult to reference directly without giving too much away. The main character is gruff and morally dubious, but suits the brutality of the times. The legend of the wendigo is a particularly frightening one and always worth revisiting. This story takes the steampunk Western slant and delivers an affectionate and enthusiastic addition, even if it’s not doing anything that new.
