This book was informative, yet fun to read. The message of this book is teaching manners such as saying sorry, saying please, eating politely, and even how to cough and sneeze. The most interesting thing is the book is split up into 31 different informative poems about manners. The poems are fun and engaging, because each them rhyme. For example, "Say nice things to people, Compliments are worthwhile. You will be rewarded By their happy smile." The poems also use a lot of repetition which helps reinforce the topic. A good example of this is the poem about saying please, "Say please may I have this, say please may I have that, Say please to your family, even the dog and the cat." Personally, I want to read more when it reading style is fun and has a rhyme scheme or repetition. Secondly, the character Miss Prudence Pennyback is quirky, and well mannered. She teaches the manners throughout the book and is believable and makes the reader want to take her seriously. In the beginning, the author says "I'm Miss Prudence Pennyback...We'll be such good friends." Instead of just writing an informational book about manners the author wrote a creative piece to engage readers and enjoy reading.… (meer)
