This book is content rich exploring many facets of sea life: from the smallest plants and animals to concepts such as the food-chain, sea plants such as kelp, etc. There is even a page emphasizing the importance of plankton-for our overall food chain. There are several vocabulary words and very interesting pictures of sea creatures big and small (great for younger readers, too). An excellent, informative, fun look at sea life.

“Ludwig Van Beethoven: Young Composer” was a very encouraging book to read. Growing up, many children are put under their pressure from their parent to excel in academics, athletics or music. Beethoven also suffered from the stress of attempting to please a parent and never doing so. This book would be a great way for children as young at eight years old to learn that the best approval is from oneself. This book also including some of Beethoven many struggles and accomplishments.

This is a good example of a biography. Although it is a biography of two people isntead of one. It tells about thiere life presenting facts and interpreting them. It makes their life something the readers can grasph. Both Wilbur and Orville are full charachters. We get to know a lot about what makes them tick and how they work.

Focuses on the young life of the famous brothers, this biography is short, but contains a number of anecdotes that will both resonate with and inspire young readers. Good moral tone.

This is an introduction to the Wright brothers for younger readers. It is well illustrated with drawings and covers the childhood and adolescence of Wilbur and Orville. Their early inventiveness is emphasized.

This book disappointed me. It's an easy-to-read story of how Willie Mays became a part of major league baseball history. If that's what you want, it's an excellent choice. I rather hoped there would be something more heroic or admirable besides his baseball accomplishments.

The biography over Teddy Roosevelt (Rough Rider) explains about the life that he lived. He was the second child of Theodore Sr., and Martha Bullock Roosevelt. It tells how he felt as a child and what his plans were when he got older. Going through his life and then he became president. His father passed away and that was very devistating to him and he decided to move on with his life. He made wildlife refuges and loved to hunt animals. He started a groups called the "Rough Riders" and was very active in the group. I learned from the story that reading this book was very acurate to the textbooks that students are learning from. I had just discussed Teddy Roosevelt in my history class before I read this story, and it made it much more clear. In the classroom, I could use this story book to help the students understand a little more about Teddy Roosevelt. Going over it in the textbook doesn't cover everything that is important about him and so this book will help the learning process also.
