Forgiveness is a key theme here. Both forgiving yourself and forgiving others--and the consequences of not forgiving are laid out in an allegorical way.

I found it interesting to see how the characters grow into their roles.

A Medieval Adventure that begins with romance, but romance is soon shattered by treachery, leaving three noble children to make their way as commoners. The oldest is a knight in service to the church; the youngest finds his schooling and wits a good fit for life aboard a trade ship on the high seas.

You cannot help but root for this family to find each other again.

Women--underestimate them at your own peril!. The lawbreakers who took over the Scholar's Inn never thought three women and brewmaster would give them any trouble. They got a bit more than they bargained for.
