George W. Sanville (1879–1957)

Mr. Sanville was general manager of the Rodeheaver-Hall-Mack Co., gospel music publishers. He was associated with Billy Sunday and Homer Rodeheaver in a career that began in 1894.

He was the compiler of a book of hymns, "Songs of the Living Way", and author of "Forty Gospel Hymn Stories", a collection of the stories behind the most famous hymns. Several million copies of the hymn books he compiled have been sold and many are still selling today.

In 1906, Mr. Sanville organized the Praise Publishing Co., which was absorbed by the Rodeheaver-Hall-Mack Co., when Rodeheaver bought out the company in order to obtain Mr. Sanville's services.
