This is a book of world poetry, which has poems about Asian countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, China, Japan, as well as countries such as in North Africa- Morocco, Algeria.

There is a section on poetry about and from children. A number of youth and child poets are featured, as well as some well-known poets such as, Sara Teasdale, Rabindranath Tagore, William Wordworth, Emily Bront.

There are a number of unidentified poets also, as well as a few poems from and about the concentration camps of Germany.

John Scott is an educator in Newark, NJ, and works in Newark public schools. He is 46 and his certficate is in Early Childhood. Mr. Scott writes poetry between classes, collects poetry from students and encourages poetry as a healthy creative outlet for children and teens.

Jane Statlander is a literature professor at Miami Dade County College and Miami University, as well as Thomas Edison State College, Trenton, NJ. Mrs. Statlander resides in Miami Florida, spends time in Tel Aviv, and is originally from Newark, NJ.

Professor Statlander wrote the forward, edited the book and included an introducation on how to write a poem, as well as one of her own favorite poems based on an excursion in Point Pleasant, NJ.

Dr. Statlander is a published poet and has authored two books one of which is current, "What Philip Roth Never Told You... The (True) Story of a Newark Girl".

A few new poets are also included in this collection.
It is 364 pages, and illustrated, with an appendix explaining the origin and authorship of many of the poems.
