How Underwear got Under There is a factual, but silly, non-fiction book geared towards children at the age of seven and up. It talks about the history of underwear from the 1700s to present day through nine reasons for why people chose to wear, or in some cases discard, their undergarments. It has zany facts, King Tut being buried with 145 pairs of underpants, and shows crazy patent drawings on the undergarments we take for granted, like the bra. The illustrations are hilarious; my favorite in particular is a horse trying to eat the bustle that was stuffed with bran. It is very much a leisure read even though its non-fiction and the silly subject is sure to keep the interest of the young reader peaked.… (meer)

I wish there were more details, but the subtitle does warn that the book is brief. Maybe too many mentions of reproductive organs to be read aloud in school. Interesting bits, I just wish there were more.
This is a very funny book that tells about the history of underwear. It has many facts, funny drawings and many other things.
This book cracked me up!! It was very interesting learning about some of the first undergarments. I enjoyed this book.
My students could create a time line with their own drawings of underwear throughout the ages. Also they could invent what they think underwear of the future might look like!
