Jaffer Sheyholislami

Jaffer Sheyholislami is an Assistant Professor at the School of Linguistics and Language Studies at Carleton University, Canada where he teaches courses in discourse studies and applied linguistics. Sheyholislami was born and grew up in Kurdistan-Iran, and worked in broadcasting and print media toon meer before leaving Iran in the mid-1980s. In Canada, he earned his BA in linguistics and applied language studies, MA in applied language studies, and PhD in communication from Carleton University. He has published in both English and Kurdish on discourse analysis, cultural identity, new media, and Kurdish language, literature, media and identity. toon minder
