nonfiction/crafting - if you're serious about block printing and want to get started, the author advises you to get the pricier "soft-carve rubber" (easier to use and less risk of slipping/cutting/injury) but if that's out of your price range you can just use lino (but you'll need to be careful, and note that as it ages it gets more brittle and harder to use; warm it up as you go)

If you're not that serious about block printing, like me, you can still enjoy the design ideas (multi color prints!), and she does provide alternatives that don't require carving--stamps from vegetables/found objects, or using adhesive-backed foam sheets that can be cut with scissors.… (meer)
