A fine adaptation of one of my favorite Pooh films, which in turn adapts two of my favorite chapters from Milne's original Pooh books. First, Pooh invents Pooh Sticks and discovers Eeyore floating down the stream after an unfortunate bounce. Then he scrambles to find a last-second birthday present for Eeyore.

The art and dialogue evoke the original film quite well. I just rewatched the film in June of last year, but I'm still tempted to give it another viewing after reading this.

An adaptation by Teddy Slater and illustrators Bill Langley and John Kurtz of the 1983 Walt Disney short film, Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore, directed by Rick Reinert; story by Peter Young, Steve Hulett, and Tony L. Marino; based on the original works of A. A. Milne and Ernest H. Shepard. The film specifically adapts Winnie-the-Pooh Chapter 6: In Which Eeyore Has a Birthday and Gets Two Presents and The House at Pooh Corner Chapter 6: In Which Pooh Invents a New Game and Eeyore Joins In.

While I appreciate the sentiment of the book, the lessons in it are actually harmful, as they instruct kids to kiss and hug their dogs, as well as give them pizza, let them outside when they're barking (without a leash or accompaniment!), and more. Kids who actually follow the instructions in the book could wind up getting nipped or bitten, making their dogs sick, or putting their dogs at risk of injury.

A bland story of the BIG red dog, Clifford, helping Emily Elizabeth trying to find something special for show-and-tell.

What could she possibly own that would be BIG enough to stand out?

Hmmm. It's a stumper . . .

What gives this book it's special atmosphere, are the drawings, which look like panels from a storyboard. Rather enchanting.

In this rhyming story, children go on a class trip to Greenville Petting Zoo with their teacher. Also, the reader sees how one dozen children can be grouped in different ways. It includes math activities about a dozen at the end of the book: hunting for one dozen, two by two, out the doors in fours, on the bus in threes, show the other ways, what about six?

GREAT STORY!
I love this book! It was such a favorite when I was a child and even the new remake of it as a movie based on the book is super good! I love this story and how it shows that differences don't matter when you're in love with someone.

This book was really cute. It is all about keeping your dog busy. The author does a great job with the rhymes, but the cadence changes up frequently and has you tripping over your tongue.½
