The Ultimate Applique Guidebook by Annie Smith is a great book for both beginners and advanced quilters. The book talks about the history of appliqué and shows some examples of her own work in the 1970s. Smith’s book contains patterns and instructions for either hand or machine appliqué with fusing the fabrics.
The book contains 150 designs- lots of flowers, stems and vases. It also has patterns for cute dog and cat patterns and patterns for bugs- lady bugs and bees are some.
I like this book because it contains a lot of useable patterns that you could mix and match, and that you could adapt to make your own designs and blocks. It is also a great reference book and a book that will give you new ideas for your quilts.… (meer)
