I don’t know how to rate this. The grammar and spelling typos are dreadful. It’s like it was dictated to Alexa or proofread by somebody only marginally fluent in English. There must be almost an error per page. Seriously, heir for air? “Her touch seemed to have pushed the miniature roof tumbling from its perch.” A third grader would spot the clumsy grammar.

Anyway, both novellas are first rate. The first one, the title story, has fewer errors so you can sort of play through them. I like anything about Templars.

The second story, A Haunting in Miniature is a most interesting ghost story.

Lush, gothic, romantic prose and a disquieting story combine in a fascinating story of wishes granted and dreams destroyed. Highly recommended to fans of early Anne Rice and Tanith Lee
