An unusual magazine that suffers from a major identity crisis. Firstly when you open it you quickly realise that it is a quad-folded loose page format resembling a newspaper more than a magazine - except that you read it in landscape view! Then, of the 16 broadpage sheets, so many could be considered full page posters (including the centre-spread) that you could almost consider it a poster-magazine. This really is the most confusing read. There are three pages containing 'The complete A-Z of British T.V. Sci-Fi', There are fake advertisements for 'Schehrazade Tours in association with Harryhausen Flight' and 'Edgar Rice Burroughs Travel to Caprona', and an article on the special effects of Star Wars which appears to be an editorial Ad. for a book called 'Starquest' published by Rautobourne Ltd. © 1977
The result resembles something put together by someone who had never before seen a magazine but was given really poor instructions on how to publish one. Either that or it was part of an experiment which went wrong. This is what happens when your editor goes on holiday. Anarchy at it's best!… (meer)
