The house that Jack Built is similar to the book There was an Old Woman who swallowed a fly by Micheal Kohn and Daniel Weiner. This book would be great for 1st graders through 3rd grade.
I would tell them about the word "Cosmology" and how it viewed in the African worldview. I would tell them that everything in the story is interconnected with each other! After reading The House that Jack Built and There was an old woman who swallowed a fly, we would make a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting these two books.
