Wonderful volume, carefully selected anthology of poker stories, lore, pointers, and insight. Authors include everyone from Herbert O' Yardley to David Mamet and Anthony Holden, James Thurber's take on wild card games that ends with wonderful revenge for anyone who's ever suffered through 'follow-the-queen' or night baseball.

Barbara Tuchman's treatise on the game spurns the advice of experts and offers unstinting support (and even encouragement) for any 'calling station's predilections.

Borrowed this book from the local library - check it out! I'll be looking to add to me collection.

This is a very wide reaching collection of poker literature. Incorporating drama, poetry, fiction, biography, other historical and contemporary non-fiction accounts this work is entertaining as a general rule. Some works I didn't enjoy, but I even those I appreciated their inclusion because of the representation of time, place and genre. A work by Barbara ? is a piece I would recommend to any man wanting to attempt to understand why women frequently approach poker differently than men, especially as I see in low to middle stakes limit hold'em.½
