Subtitled: "A New Zealand Story." It tried to give an idea of what it may have been like during and after the "Tarawera" eruption. Elsie Locke's "A Canoe in the Mist" was heaps better. I had some difficulty in visualizing where the protagonists actually were as time, distance and place didn't make much sense to me. Still, I suppose if an author is spinning a yarn, reality can take a back seat to the imparting of a yarn.½
