The Independent on Sunday (1990–2016)

The Sunday iteration of 'The Independent' (est. 1986). Although some aspects of production merged with the main paper, the Sunday paper retained a largely distinct editorial staff. In March 2016 'The Independent' decided to close its print edition and become an online newspaper; 'The Independent on Sunday' published its last print edition on 20 March 2016 and was closed following that. The last printed edition of 'The Independent' was published the following Saturday, 26 March 2016. The paper continues (2021) to trade as part of 'The Independent' as a subscription paper online.
