This book definitely exceeded my expectations. If you like memoirs you will thoroughly enjoy this book. The different writing style kept it interesting and kept my attention. The author's various modes of writing were done so well they flow effortlessly from start to finish and really immerse you in the story.

This is a book of essays, poems, and lyrics that describe part of the culteral experience of a Cambodian refugee. The author has placed personal photographs throughout the pages. Reading this memoir has opened my eyes to specific struggles that I was unaware of that someone faces. It also provided me with a look into the life of a refugee.
