Owen Tobias

An engaging tale with plenty of action and imagination to keep younger readers engaged. Magnus is an unexpectedly enjoyable character - a rather obvious choice to be sure, but one that has somehow managed to remain largely overlooked in the genre.

I did find the frequent POV shifts a bit jarring, which ended up making it hard to identify which of Darcy and Sasha is the lead and which the sidekick. And one or two of those POV choices were unusual enough to weaken the story for me a bit, but others may find them fun.

Overall though, I'll definitely be watching for the next instalment.… (meer)
