- John Treherne was a Fellow of Downing College, Cambridge and University Reader in Zoology. He was Editor of the Journal of Experimental Biology for fifteen
years, from 1974 until his death from a heart attack on September 23rd 1989.
He wrote numerous papers, monographs and books on biological subjects. However his interests ranged far beyond Zoology and Natural History as he became a successful author in 1983 writing a book every year from 1983 until his death in 1989.
He had a particular interest in the real life characters of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow and wrote about the true story as opposed to the urban legend of "Bonnie and Clyde".
