Trinian wrote five or six Gold Medal books in the early sixties. He also wrote for television and the big screen, including for the Rockford Files. He is also known as Zekial Markel, but that might be another pen name.

This book was published in 1961 and takes place around San Francisco and Marin County. This is a love story and its a bit about the Beat Generation, about jazz musicians, wild parties, drinking, rebellion
against parents, nonconformity. There's even a woman who dyes her skin a different color every month, blue, green, orange, foreshadowing Ken Kessey and the merry pranksters. It's well written and the story is compelling, but it is a little disjointed as the focus of the tale shifts. All in all, it does well in giving the flavor
of the time in San Francisco.

Trinian is a pen name of Zekial Marko, who wrote five or six Gold Medal books in the early sixties. He has numerous tv and movie credits, including the Rockford Files and To Catch a Thief.

Here, Karl Heisler had just got out of prison and this stretch had aged him years and years. He barely knows his wife and son, but he wants to do one more big job, one more big haul, to prove he is the master of his craft. The wife, Edna, is not too happy about Karl's plans. Why did they even let him out, she complains. He's a thief and it's all he knows how to
do.

But, it's different this time, Karl explains, because Karl has a partner he can trust, his old cellmate Frank Toschi. "The Skyline job would be the greatest stroke of his career."

It's a great story. Reading it, you get a real feel for Karl aging and reminiscing and angling to pull one perfect final caper before retiring. Trinian knows how to write and, reading this, you want to know what
happens and whether Karl pulls it off. Good stuff.
