My NEL first edition of this book is over 25 years old, and I am sure much has changed especially in the realm of designer drugs. That as it may, I must recommend this little book to anyone researching the fascinating topic of recreational drug taking (especially in England during the Eighties).
Much more than simply an AtoZ of common narcotics and their effects on the human body; this book is cram-packed full of interesting information concerning the manufacture of specific drugs and the history of their usage in society, enlightening stories and accounts from prominent individuals who have been involved in their distribution and officials who have attempted to control their spread, facts and figures on addiction rates and even some approximate costings are given. Articles from old journals and newspapers fill in the back history and accounts from users past and present give a clear account of their effects and side effects.
A nice unbiased little read if you are at all fuzzy about any specific area.… (meer)
