An uneven book that needs better editing. Written for Seventh-day Adventists (SDA), it surveys Christian history and theology as the Church struggles to come to grips with grace before turning to the SDA denomination's internal tensions over grace. Somewhat disjointed but does provide additional material at the end of each chapter for further thinking. The first half of the book might interest the general reader but the second half will probably only be of interest to those interested in SDA history. The second half of the book makes it clear that every SDA should read it, particularly if they have been seduced by a legalistic religiosity.… (meer)
