Esta obra conjunta tem como objetivo dar a conhecer as plantas silvestres alimentares e as ervas aromáticas condimentares, focando, simultaneamente, a importância da sua preservação para a continuidade e inovação de algumas das mais emblemáticas tradições alimentares do Alentejo. Os saberes, memórias e tradições alimentares baseadas nestes recursos são passados em revista, reavivando-se a identidade cultural mediterrânica. Neste sentido, a conservação da biodiversidade local destas espécies assume-se como fundamental à promoção e desenvolvimento integrado do território e à valorização do património alimentar, material e imaterial.

This joint work has the purpose of developing knowledge of wild food plants and culinary herbs, focusing on the importance of its preservation for the continuity and innovation of some of Alentejo’s most representative culinary traditions. The knowledge, memories and traditions based around these resources are reviewed, rekindling its Mediterranean cultural identity. In this respect, the conservation of the local biodiversity of these species is fundamental for the promotion and integrated development of the territory, and also for the preservation of material and immaterial culinary heritage.… (meer)
