- Sylvie Vincent, née du Crest, was a renowned Canadian anthropologist and ethnologist and an expert on Innu culture. In the early 1970s, she co-founded and then served as editor-in-chief of the magazine Recherches amérindiennes au Québec. During her career, Ms. Vincent worked with numerous First Nations tribes of Canada, including the Cree, the Algonquins, and the Wyandots. Throughout her career, she collaborated with many other well-known anthropologists, such as Bernard Arcand, Serge Bouchard, José Mailhot, and Rémi Savard.
In 2009, Ms. Vincent was awarded the Prix des Dix for her remarkable contributions to the history of the First Nations of Quebec.
