This book is a great way to teach children about smell. It introduces children to words like sense organs, mucus, germs, odors, nasal cavity, olfactory bulb, nerves, hippocampus, and anosmia. It teaches kids the importance of smell and how it can alert you to dangers and when you get a nose cold how smell gets messed up.
I could see myself using this book to teach about the senses of the body or even some of those functions of the body that they may know their is a function for such as mucus. It would be a great book for a fun way to preface a nature walk or something related to it.… (meer)
