Young Vo

I really like this book. I think it has a very cute and appealing style to the illustrations. The illustrations are cartoonish and very childlike. I think this book would be great for older elementary school kids or even young middle school students. This book was about a young Asian boy who just moved and it is about how he interprets the language of his new country.

I love this book so much I’m going to cry. Please read it. Please read it and know that a language barrier is not forever and with the right help it’s just an adventure waiting to happen.

I loved the book! Where it was using different "gibberish" would be awesome to show students what it means to know another language.

I wanted to like it. But the illustration style absolutely positively threw me off.

BUT tackling the whole English as Second Language is an important concept.
