A fun take on the classic Big Bad Wolf, our little Biggest Baddest Wolf is taking on the world one scare at a time! He frightens little children, scares the elderly, and in general causes chaos no matter where he goes...and he LOVES it! Seriously, it's his bread and butter in life...so long as he has his trusty teddy bear by his side. What? Hey, even the BIGGEST, even the BADDEST of them all need their security blanket or comfort zone, and teddy happens to be his...until one day, dun dun dunnnn. TEDDY IS MISSING! Let's just say that takes some of the huff and puff out of our little friend here, and that's where the second half of our story finds us as he does anything to get his pal back!

It's a fun read with great potential for story time or read aloud shenanigans, peppered with colorful illustrations that will have you running with the humans in search of cover from this BIGGEST BADDEST threat....as well as a subtle reminder to not make promises you can't keep. *glares at the wolf*

Um, hm. I see lots of reviews here, but it seems most of them are from students of education, planning to be teachers. I wonder if this has actually been run by little children? The images of the wolf, through the entire first portion of the book, are very scary. And after the end, when the wolf is revealed to be Little Wolfie, who is fun to play with, there is an epilogue, in which Little Wolfie says next time I'll bring my big brother" and the scary wolf's profile is shown again. To me, that seems like 'Jaws 2 - just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...'

If you're going to share this with children under the age of six or seven, preview it first. And I do think it would help if your child knows at least some of the included fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters that were included.

My rating reflects my mixed feelings. If I could test it on kids I might change my mind."
