Oh boy, I really enjoyed this book! It is so difficult for me to resist the temptation to finish reading the rest of this book because it does such a marvelous job grabbing you and never wanting to let go. After finishing the book, I can guarantee it keeps the steam going until the very end.

From what I have read, there are very few Sci-Fi elements in the book, so I am unsure if it will reach the semifinals of the indie Sci-Fi book contest. We mostly get a fantasy story starring a quasi-immortal god that adopts the appearance of different human bodies to serve as a benevolent guide named Ay-Tal. The story revolves around the endless mishaps Ay-Tal and her/his/errr... their bodyguard named Jon get into when an overzealous train conductor shoots Ay-Tal in the chest due to a misunderstanding and Jon is forced to jump off the train while carrying his charge in his arms.

As expected, the cops will place all the blame on Jon for Ay-Tal's purpoted murder and they both end up stumbling from one problem into another as they end up stuck in a village near Eau-Claire, Wisconsin. They find friends and foes along the way, and at the one third point of the story, both characters are separated. Jon has to take the reins to help others.

The writing is fluid, magnetic, & succulently delicious. This is definitely an author to keep a close watch because the prose and storytelling is fabulous. For this first round, I am so voting Yes, Yes, Yes to pass this book to round #2 just to give me the excuse to read to the very end. Even if it doesn't reach the semifinals, the author has won one loyal reader. Good job!

While I received an ARC of this book, I have made an independent decision to post this review. I have to admit that I am a "sci-fi" buff, but I loved this story about artificial intelligence in space!

Within the first few pages of the book I wasn't sure whether I could continue all the way through. I kept reading it though, and after those few pages I found it enjoyable, and got more enjoyable the further I got into the story. Her evil stepmother, and younger brother was something I could relate to.
It was tied up beautifully in the end, and more adventures of lizard girl does catch my interest.
