Ethan Wiley

A group of obnoxious students on a road end up in a strange rural township surrounded by cornfields and are soon making the acquaintance of the murderous children who worship "He Who Walks Behind the Rows", who appears to have mutated into a ball of fire who resides within a grain silo. Written and directed by Ethan Wiley who delivers some straightforward derivative slasher fare with the Children of the Corn mythos coming across as a bit of an afterthought. The children are led by the least charismatic of kid cult leaders / preachers so far - this one is so lame that he requires an adult supervisor in the form of David Carradine. The acting is average at best with a wasted Eva Mendes probably the best of a limp bunch. Things are spiced up, however, by some nice cameos: Kane Hodder as a bartender and Fred Williamson as the local sheriff. "Fields of Terror" was just about passable but possibly the weakest in the series to date.… (meer)
