Jillian Wynot's story tells about their morning and the mess they make along the way. Themes include family, love despite circumstances, and what Mother's Day really means to moms. The illustrations are cute and colorful, as is the dialogue. The text is appropriate in content and style for its intended audience, early to middle elementary children.
