Dachengquan, or Great Achievement Shadow Boxing, just as its name implies, is a completely new form of shadow boxing founded by incorporating the Xingyiquan's (form-and-mind boxing) mechanism of force, the quintessence of Qigong, Taijiquan's four skills of attacking, stroking, and joining, Baguaquan's leisurely and bodywork, flexible and changeable handwork and step work. The boxing is distinguished for its effective combat skills and its value for actual combat. As the boxing is no method in it, it lays emphases on training of human spirit, body strength and flexibility, as well as the training of harmony and elasticity of muscles, instead of the patterns of routines. Besides, it has also marked effect on the preservation of health. In short, with constant training, one can surely gain a certain beneficial effect in either field.

Da cheng Quan is one of the few books on yi chuan or internal martial arts. It is poorly translated from chinese and has lots of typos and spelling errors. It is also only 119 pages. That is all the bad. This book is truly a gem. It is the kind of boxing manual which would be stolen in a cheap kung fu movie. The author offers many tips for improving your depth of internal work. really outlines the syllabus for wang xiang zhai's teaching. I wish it would be a bit longer with more exercises illustrated. I can even put with the bad translation and typos. Just give me more.

This book gives many insights into standing practice not explained in other books like 'The Way of Energy' and as a bonus gives many thoughts on fighting in the vein of JKD. The originator of this system was very well known in his time and has many stories to tell.
