I thought the book was halfway decent. A lot of drawn out stuff which could have been shortened but then I guess it wouldn't have made from what you've read. Jim and his buddies sure did go through hell. Why they made it to his house unfortunately the wife and two kids were already gone and now I got to wait to find out what happened LOL

This book is the very definition of non-stop action. There's hardly a spot for the reader to catch their breath. My only complaint would be that it ended in an unwelcome spot. But it could be that each book in the series will cover a single day in the zombie apocalypse?

A good level of action, but not quite as non-stop as Jim's First Day. Early on, a good portion was devoted to Karen's neighbors, but it fit in nicely. I liked the first book a bit better, but this was still a very good book. It does stand on its own, without needing to read the first book.

Book 8 is supposed to be the end of the series. This installment introduces readers to a new hybrid, Joshua, who has his own band of no-gooders. The women are led to his fortress by an errant puppy which Leon almost hit on the road. They were vastly outnumbered and very close to becoming hybrids themselves. Everyone left on the bus is in bad shape, recuperating from their injuries and rescue is doubtful.

The group on the bus is only six miles from Jim's parents' farm when they crash in an ambush set-up by Joshua and his gang. A chase takes place and a final battle takes place. Then, poof, readers are at the farm, life is grand for the survivors, there are many unanswered questions and it seems like the ending was rushed. However, it left things open for a possible sequel.

As I've mentioned in my reviews of every book in this series, typos still exist and words are still missing. Joe needs a new proofreader.

I have enjoyed The Infected Series and look forward to the conclusion to see how the author fits everything together. The two hybrids also added a new twist to the zombie culture; adding to the gore. My question remains that all the bodies that were bitten by this duo were supposed to also turn into hybrids, yet the author made no mention since leaving the church.

The ending is one that I didn't expect and thought the running and killing would continue to their new destination. One thing I've found common through the entire series is the number of typos and missing words found in each installment. This is why I gave the story only four stars. However, it is a good read and you will need strong stomachs to get through this one.

I've already downloaded book 8 and look forward to getting back into the story this evening. It's also amazing to look back at the series - over 1400 pages so far - and see that only two days have transpired since the outbreak began. Well worth the time and investment to follow this great writer.

The infected series is one of the best zombie series I think I've ever read. Here, after six books and all the action, only forty-eight hours of real-time has expired. Jim, Karen, Troy, Sara, Ryder, Leon, Shawna and Brother Paul all continue to battle their demons and zombies in this installment. Jim and Karen's group are trying desperately to hold it together as their group is torn apart. Brother Paul is on a quest to destroy Jim for killing his brother, Eric, Sara is fighting for her life against Ryder, Shawna, too, is chased by a gaining horde - she's also desperately trying to protect two unexpected stowaways in the bus she stole and crashed. And finally, a new character joins Jim & Karen's group. It's sit on the edge of your seat and bite your nails time. Who will survive this day?

Meanwhile, a new enemy surfaces. One, that is more deadly than even the zombies. Things are about to get real! I quickly downloaded the last two books in the series and can't wait to start book #7. Outstanding job Joseph...can't wait to see how this new threat develops.

This book takes over where #4 left off. While en route to Jim's parent's home, the group stops at a local market to beef up their supplies in the armored bus. While there, they are visited by a perceived sex maniac who threatens the group. During this confrontation, the store is surrounded by the dead who burst their way inside. To escape, the group must be creative. Meanwhile, Brother Paul and his followers are besieged at their compound and it is evident that they will soon be overrun. They agree to fight their way out and relocate to a bigger and more secure church near where Jim and his group are heading.

The ending will leave readers surprised and hungry to see what happens next. As expected, I quickly purchased book #6 in the series. I did penalize the author one star for typos and incorrectly used words in the story. Otherwise, It would have received 5 stars. An engaging series!

I am totally hooked on The Infected series by Joseph Zuko and couldn't wait to get into this book. It picks up right where book #3 ends. The survivors of the gunfight gather together and find an ingenious way to deal with the horde of thousands of undead that are beginning to surround them. Unknown to them, the author introduces new characters from the church group and readers follow them while en route to find their missing comrades who were killed by the members of Jim's group. Undoubtedly, there will be another gunfight when they discover the missing bodies.

It is a "gut punch" to readers when characters they've followed and liked are killed in this story. Mr. Zuko is getting good at making that happen. I will begin book #5 tonight and look forward to see what happens to my favorite characters next and wonder who will get killed off at the end of this installment.

This book takes right over where book 2 ended...Jim leaves the home of his upstairs neighbors after a fire started and quickly engulfed the building. The group had to vacate quickly leaving all their supplies and weapons in the flames. With nowhere else to go, Cliff and his family joined Jim on the trek across town to his mother-in-law's home where he hoped to find his family waiting.

Meanwhile, Karen and her group fortified her mother's home after burying her dead, turned mother. It's also the start of day two in the Apocolypse - Frank and Troy temporarily leave the barricaded home to scavenge for supplies. Right after they left, a strange pick-up with six armed men arrived and tried to gain entry into Karen's home. She allows the leader of the group inside and it turned out to be the biggest mistake of her life.

Right about that time, Jim, Cliff, his family, and others arrived at the home and wondered among themselves why five armed men were standing on the MIL's porch. It was quiet until the leader called out from inside to kill everyone. This started a gunfight, lopsided at first, which alerted Troy and Frank to the trouble. Both quickly got into their vehicle and returned to the home - joining in the fight. It was devastating and many people died.

I quickly downloaded book four and jumped into it to see what happens next. The author did a wonderful job at weaving these two stories together. The ending also leaves readers breathless and heartbroken. They also discover that survival in this new world now required them to win all future battles against both the zombies and human mobs.

So far, I've read the first two books in the Infected series. Book 1 followed Jim as the Apocolypse began and in his quest to get across town and hook up with his family. In book 2, his wife, Karen, is home with her two children awaiting Jim's arrival. She, too, has her hands full and does everything possible to keep them all safe. Their neighbor, Cliff, who lives upstairs, uses leftover material to barricade his apartment against the horde of zombies; they each have their own adventures as Cliff travels to the senior home to rescue his mother, and then his wife teams up with Karen to rescue a small child and return her to her home and family within the complex.

Karen's brother soon arrives to help in the battles - both leave with the children and travel to Karen's mother's home before Jim gets home; a surprise awaiting them upon their arrival.

All in all, I feel that this installment was better written than book one and kept my interest intact. I will be starting the next book in the series where Jim and his group travel to Karen's mother's home to rejoin the family. So far, I'd recommend both books in the series. Joe Zuko does an excellent job at describing the scenes and fighting - making readers believe they are standing right there with the characters. Great job!

I found this book enjoyable and actually without any flaws. Readers should be aware that the author pulls no punches and descriptions of the events taking place leave nothing to the imagination; many are morbid depictions. I also found situations unique within this book as hordes of "old folks" and "school children" joined the ranks as zombies, relentlessly attacking the protagonist and his group. Any hesitation on their parts to destroy them would cause the survivors to be overrun.

Jim is at work across town when the zombie infection begins. He immediately thinks about his wife and two kids and sets out to rejoin his family. Coworkers join him on his quest and all but one survives the initial hour. Other characters join the two men en route - some die at the hands of zombies - others survive and continue on with Jim. There are no breathers and the action is non-stop.

The entire book covers Jim's first day and he eventually reaches his home - they are all wounded and have barely survived the trek. They find that one of the apartment tenants has blockaded the building to protect his family - they rescue Jim and his motley crew - just barely, from the outreached hands of zombies. Is his family safe? Did they reach them in time? You'll have to read the book to find out what happens next.
