This book introduces children to the may ways "snack time" is enjoyed in different countries around the world. It shows children that although people may do things differently than their own cultures, they still have things in common.

I enjoyed the pictures of the variety of children enjoying their snacks! It gives more visual interest to the reader. I really appreciate that the author added a few kid-friendly recipes at the back of the book for some of the snacks children have during their "snack time."

The first extension I'd do would be to make one of the recipes in the back of the book in class with the children, so they may experience a different version of a "snack." A second extension would be to have the children bring a recipe from home that is representative of their culture, and we could create a classroom cookbook for each child to take home.… (meer)
