I was born and raised in Vietnam during the war and came to the United States in the 1970's. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and earn my living as an electronic engineer, with eleven patents to my name. Books, history, and travel are my hobbies. My first book, "Once upon a Mulberry Field," is an award-winning novel set in Vietnam at the height of the war. It is followed by "Rain Falling on Tamarind Trees," the travelogue of my recent return trip to the ancestral homeland.
Aside from novel-length fiction, I also write short stories and poetry.
