My library includes books saved for fifty years, including a set of Maupassnt stories bound in shabby fake leather which I found in a book store when I was a lit major in college. Filed next to it is Ian McEwan and on top of the case, waiting, is Zadie Smith, since I've run out of spaces in the S's. I can't possible keep all of my books so I make a regular book sale run to Powell's, which results in more books, usually. I give the likes of Evanovitch to friends once I've enjoyed her. Friends have suggested that ebooks are a lot easier to store, and I know because I have a few on my Kindle, including two of my own books. But it's just not the same, is it?

I am a writer of novels and short stories after years of being a school counselor. I've written four novels, two of which have been self-published as ebooks and I'm in the throes of attempting to market one of them in a print version.I would much rather be writing the fifth book than scrambling around the internet attempting to build so-called platform, but this search brought me to Library Thing, which is a very satisfying place for a book lover like me to land. If I'm not writing, I'm reading.
