Our library consists of many rare, niche books that are focused on small-scale, place-based living skills, such as wilderness survival, nature connection, organic arts and crafts, plant and animal identification, gardening and permaculture, and more. We have books on cultural studies, ethnographies, anthropology, anarchism, communism and other political theory. Additionally, we have several books about Maine.

We are a nonprofit organization, based in Portland, Maine, whose mission is to deepen the connections between people and the Earth via education, land stewardship and community. We facilitate a series of classes and workshops that are focused on small-scale, place-based living skills. Additionally, we offer a host of educational videos on our Patreon page.
