This harrowing, deeply personal, coming of age, on the road memoir follows critically acclaimed 80s indie alt rock band Divine Weeks’ first tour in the summer of ’87. Liberated from alcoholic upbringings and rigid cultural constraints, all they have is their music and each other’s friendship. The road is filled with yuppies, brothels, riots, sleeping on floors, spiked drinks, DJs with no pants, and battles with racism. They set out on the road to discovery to drink in all they could and maybe sell a few records. They grew up instead.
Over mij
I just released my first book, a coming of age, on the road memoir called "33 Days" culled from the journal I kept during my band Divine Weeks' first tour in the summer of 1987. Divine Weeks put out two records, Down There/Restless release Through & Through in 1987 and First Warning/BMG release "Never Get Used To It" in 1991. I have released five solo records. I've always maintained that I'm no author. I'm just a guy in a band who was blessed with one of the most extraordinary and eye opening journeys a band at our level could have. I've just been trying the last 12 years to weave all these remarkable experiences into the most compelling book possible. Hopefully I've succeeded. I live with my daughter Maeve, my girlfriend Cindy and her two children Emma and Alex in Los Angeles, California.
