After years of living in small flats and houses with little space for books, I now have a library, which has all my non-fiction books, and about half of my fiction books (the rest are shelved in the living room). It's a joy to finally be able to see everything I have, and to catalogue it properly!

I have a very catholic taste in books - if it's a book, I want it. I have lots of books on the off-chance that one day I might need to know or become interested in that subject, and a lot of books that are there for occasional reference. Particular favourites are murder mysteries, language books, modern history and contemporary novels.

Theatre technician, designer and writer... I was a library assistant for five minutes in the 1980s and it was one of the happiest times of my life and left me with a deep and abiding understanding of the Dewey Decimal system. So obviously, my non-fiction section is shelved appropriately...
