Museum of Friends
Over mijn bibliotheek
MOF is in the process of implementing a full-service Koha catalogue. In the meantime, to make our collection immediately available, we're hosting on LibraryThing. (And maybe we'll keep our catalogue mirrored on LT just for fun!) Expect new additions constantly throughout the end of 2007.

MOF is a non-lending research library. If you are interested in making an appointment to do research here, please contact us by e-mail.
Over mij
The Museum of Friends was established in 2006, as an educational facility in downtown Walsenburg, Colorado. MOF occupies 6000 square feet of museum display space above what is now a large commercial national brands retail store. The Museum’s collection was built due to the generosity of many fellow artists within Maria Cocchiarelli-Berger’s and Brendt Berger’s circle of friends over decades of time. Core to MOF’s mission is the notion that there is more meaning to collecting art than its appraisal as an investment. The experience and history of these friendships with artists from across the country, and their work from Hawaii, Europe and Asia may give the Walsenburg citizen a museum going experience within walking distance to home. Walsenburg is in the process of urban development and due to its rich and vital history in this south central portion of Colorado – it may offer untold potential.

Fellow artists gave the works on view as unselfconscious acts over many years. MOF plans to open our exhibition space on a regular basis with the intention of giving back to the community what was freely given in the spirit of friendship. Nearly every painting, print, drawing, and sculpture in MOF represents a gesture that resonates meaning to the founders of this collection – the impetus for their goal of going public. MOF's Grand Opening will be October 19, 2007.
