This was the third book in this new series by Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh and I have enjoyed it as much as the first two. Can't wait to read the final story. I received a copy of this ARC through NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. ( )

The bodies are piling up and many questions are answered in this third installment in the Rogue River series. Officer Stevie Taylor and police chief Zane Duncan have their hands full with old murders and new ones all related to the drug problem going on in their small town. As they follow the trail we get some answers and even find out who one of the bad guys is but we still don’t know who is pulling the strings on ordering all the deaths and who is trying to take over being the big distributer of the new drug that’s killing some of its users. I am really looking forward to the final installment so we finally learn just what exactly has been going on and who is behind it all. ( )

This is the best book in the series so far. The made for TV mini series continues. Murder, suspense, drug deals, scandal, & a blooming love affair abound in this short novella. ( )

Kendra Elliot takes the writing helm for Her Grave Secrets (Rogue River #3). I wish I could say great things about this installment in the series, but most of the issues I've had with the previous novellas persist in this one.
• Shallow, superficial plot, lacks development, and is drawn out
• No character development
• No suspense
• Romance based on a few kisses, working side by side in the field, and an offer to move in together
• No connection between the H/h, I just don’t feel it, or believe it. Zane and Stevie make good friends though
• Emphasis placed on the importance of family, get togethers, and building bridges to keep family ties strong
• Open questions in the plot …Who killed Bill Taylor, Why was Roy killed & what was his involvement, what was Walt’s motivation to be involved in this drug scheme, who is making the C22, what does James’ issue with Katelyn have to do with the overall story, why is this drug issue still being handled locally – no DEA involvement?

Granted there’s a little progression in the overall drug plot, but it’s so drawn out and boring. This novella puts the reader close to 300 pages into a story, that I just have to say is lackluster. I guess I just have higher expectations from my romantic suspense books.

This Novella was given to my by NetGalley on behalf of Montlake Romance and had a publication date of Nov 4th, 2014.

For me another 2 star read

Her Grave Secrets is the third book in the Rogue River series by Kendra Elliot.

This is a short book, so I’m going to keep this review short.
In Her Grave Secrets we are back with Stevie and Zane. We see how they are doing in their new relationship and we see a continuation of the story coming from previous books. We learned some secrets about the new drug that is plaguing the little town of Solitude, Oregon, and one of the villains is discovered. We get some information about the disappearance of Roy and other things regarding Stevie’s family also come to the light.

Her Grave Secrets is a quick, entertaining read and a good addition to a nice series. This novella doesn’t work as a stand-alone and should be read as part of the series. I recommend this novella/series to fans of romantic suspense.

I’m looking forward to November 18th to the release of next and last novella in this series, Walking on Her Grave. ( )

A special thank you to Montlake Romance and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kendra Elliott is back with HER GRAVE SECRETS, for the third installment in the Rogue River series, with a short novella filled with action, crime suspense, intrigue, mystery and romance, as readers wait anxiously for #4.

The saga continues with the Taylor family in their role of the dark town of Solitude, Oregon, one which seems to be taken over by murderers and drug dealers. Local police chief, Zane and local cop, Stevie are (nice duo) working diligently to solve the cases of two murders and the link to her father’s death.

A deadly street drug (C22) is found in their small town, and a skull is found on the banks of the Rogue River. Two bullet holes in the back of the skull, found by two fisherman with the rest of the skeleton possibly under the trunk of the large tree.

Stevie left Oregon for a more glamorous life in LA, versus this small sleepy town. However, after her father (former police chief), Bill Taylor, passes away she returns to Solitude as a patrol officer, as she tries to heal. She was a former LAPD officer who decided the rural town was a better place to live and catch some bad guys. Her five years in LA she was left with many mental scars, and images she could never forget but she hoped over time would fade.

As in most small towns you have a lot of nosy people and neighbors and everyone wants to know your business, especially those who have left and returned. They like to make up their own rules and most of the people approved of the romance between the two.

Zane had spent five years on the police force, earning the trust of the town. It was like a secret club, with the primary key being you were born in Solitude, even though he had grown up on the eastern side of Oregon. He currently is working on his relationship with his father, while remodeling his cabin to make room for his love interest, Stevie.

The collaboration between the two authors appear to be a success, and Stevie and Zane are a favorite couple among the series. Recommend the series to those who enjoy small towns, fast-pace, crime suspense, mystery and romance. (Nice covers).

Looking forward to the continuation of the drama as they solve the mystery, with Walking on Her Grave by Melinda Leigh, coming 11/18.
