An excellent read. Fascinating characters with a plot that builds with twists at the end that if you're paying attention, you can figure out. ( )

Harry Kent is called to treat a youth holding customers hostage in a cafe. Whilst there police shoot the youth thinking he has fired his gun. This sets off Harry on a crusade to save the youth's life and find out what drove him to the hostage taking. When Harry gets too close those responsible threaten him in a very complex, murky plot. The author makes good use of his medical expertise, introducing very detailed descriptions of procedures, medical and administrative. Paints a grim picture of life as one of London's underclass. ( )

A hard hitting British medical mystery crime novel revealing the gritty undertone of police protocol and toxic relationships amongst medical staff at local hospitals. This is the first in the Dr. Kent series. The language is at times profane but the clues are deftly hidden until the very end. The forensic quality of the plot is superb. ( )

A thoroughly entertaining Police procedural, seen through the eyes of Dr. Harry Kent former Army Medic, Hospital Registrar and Police Surgeon. Gripping from first to last page authentic gritty and tense well written descriptive with superb characterization throughout.
The good news this is the start of a series and I look forward to reading more soon.
Recommended. ( )

Excellent first novel. Much medical jargon and abbreviation but it enhanced, did not detract from the suspense of the story. Very much like Robin Cook's Coma. Well worth the read. ( )
