I received "Clutter be Gone!" through a librarything.com giveaway. It has rather basic organizational advice. However, the typographical and grammatical errors are quite distracting. It might help someone begin organizing and getting rid of clutter, but doesn't go much beyond that level.

Clutter Be Gone!
De-clutter and Simplify Your Home
(And Keep It That Way) Starting Today!
by Kimberly Wilson

My new buddy is probably one of the most easy breezy ways ( and the most painless) to finally let go of the stuff that I cling to so desperately. The author's straight forward yet compassionate advice was like a reassuring hug every step of the way. She absolutely had an answer for everything as she helped me know where to start, why to start and even what to start with. This little trooper has handily made it's way into my spiritual toolbox and I would recommend it to anyone like myself that has so much stuff they just don't know what to do. Thanks, Kimberly it really made all the difference.

Love & Light,

I received this book via a librarything.com giveaway.

I liked that this book was short and sweet. It got right to the point and gave you good tips on how to start to get your clutter under control and what options are out there that may take your items.

It will be most helpful to someone who is just starting out and trying to declutter their house.

Very nice short read. ( )

Clutter Be Gone! is a short book on, not surprisingly, how to rid your house (and life) of clutter. The author first discusses what clutter is, what it costs us, and why we can't do much about it. She then proceeds to talk the reader through getting rid of the clutter and suggests strategies for various rooms.

Overall, this book is similar to others on de-cluttering. The basic premise is -- you have too much stuff you don't use, so get rid of it. What is refreshingly different in this book is the tone (not whining or dictatorial) and the methods of tackling the problems. The method is straight forward and honest -- not a gimmick like work for 15 minutes and then rest. (The rest ends up being days so nothing gets done!) I have a clutter problem and this book has inspired me to work on several areas, one of which is now clutter-free!

There are two minor complaints. First, this is a short book, which may be why it worked for me, but I would have liked a bit more on the psychology of why we keep clutter. Second, for bookaholics (as in the physical book 'collectors'), the author's suggestion is to go with ebooks. This is not the most realistic of suggestions.

I'm very glad I won this book and would recommend it to others. ( )

I received Clutter Be Gone by Kimberly Wilson from Library Thing Member Giveaway. What is Clutter? definition A)a disorderly heap or assemblage; litter: definition B)a state or condition of confusion. Clutter makes our lives complicated and stressful. When you have clutter, your home is no longer a peaceful sanctuary to escape the stresses of jobs and the rest of the world. Clutter is something every household deals with, and it is a real problem. This book is not about organizing your clutter, it is about getting rid of it once and for all! A quote that sticks out in my mind from the book: "Everything you own, owns you back, and if you don’t have a real good reason to keep something, it’s just wasting space in your home and chipping away at your peace of mind."

Clutter Be Gone by Kimberly Wilson is extremely informative, useful book. Clutter Be Gone gives practical advice in a quick, easy to read format. This book takes you step by step and room by room on how to rid clutter from your home. This book brought up some interesting ways that you have clutter. For instance, it goes into how people have possessions in their hidden closets. Also Clutter Be Gone talks about storage areas and garages. Clutter be Gone will motivate you to get rid of clutter once and for all. ( )

Quick & Dirty:

-Perfect for someone who is taking the first steps to cleaning up their lives. I would not suggest this book to anyone who has been struggling to get their things in order for a long time.

I read this book and found it to be helpful on some pointers. After I read this I used some of the tips and got rid of quite a few items to a thrift store. I am a little more organized as well. Thanks for a good read. ( )

Are you someone who looks at your house and just sighs? Maybe you’re someone that runs around the house looking for car keys or your child’s shoes. You might even have that pile on your table just for “junk” mail that refuses to stop coming in the mail. You know that you need to reorganize your home, but you just don’t know where to start or how you will make the time. This book is amazing. This book has taught me how to conquer my home room by room when I didn’t think I had the time to spare. It will teach you where to begin, even if you only have 15 minutes at a time. It breaks each room in your home down for you. It is not a demanding book either, saying you must throw everything away. Kimberly even said, “I’ll trust you to determine what qualifies as living room trash.” You have a keep pile along with the “not keep” pile broke into four sections. If you’re anything like me, you have started cleaning your home and somehow everything in your “get rid of” pile ended back throughout your house. This book is written in first person point-of-view and she has been there. She doesn’t just give advice for rooms within your home, but also your garage and computer. You will be happy with this book, I know I am. I know I have enough stress in my life and since de-cluttering, I feel so much better happier in my home. I am no longer stressing about whether or not I should be watching a movie with my children or cleaning my home. The skills I have learned in this book have helped me to keep everything in its place. Of course not always, but that’s what the 15-30 minutes on Saturdays are for. I go through my house with a quick overview and make sure that I haven’t misplaced something while I was in a hurry. ( )

The initial problem with this book is that it is American, but I live in England! The result is that a proportion of the advice is really not relevant to me. Having said that, the 'stuff' that was relevant was REALLY relevant! The book does what it says on the cover, it tells you how to have a much more liveable house. I liked the way it was broken down into bitesized pieces. Take each room a step at a time instead of overloading yourself with the whole lot at once. I have recommended the book to my daughter - which is very high praise! ( )

Good resource for simplifying life through developing consistent organizational skills. The author takes the reader through their home room by room with easy tips for how to organize, save time and money! There is much truth to Kelly's statements such as for each purchase made, we have to find a home for it, and not only do we own possessions -our possessions end up owning us as we have to provide ongoing care for them (such as through dusting). I found the book to offer useful suggestions and have begun to utilize some of them.

This is a great book to help you go from room to room and really de-clutter and simplify your life. I have found some very helpful tips. I highly recommend this book for mothers or for those who simply want some good researched advice on organizing a home. It offers simple-to-follow guidelines to simplify your home, room by room. A+ on this one I know it has and will help me get my house under control. ( )
