Hello
When I was about 17 I read a book from my local library that I have not been able to track down since. It was a novel about the Hudson Bay trading company and Canada at that time. I seem to remember I got it from the "classics" section of the library but cannot remember any other details (other than a lot of ice and some bear skins!).
Does anyone have any idea what this book could be?
Many thanks
Jane

I wonder whether it was Company of Adventurers by Peter C. Newman? Or it might have been Caesars of the Wilderness.

No worries, we often point people in their direction. Not that we wouldn't like to help you out here too. But that's where the real experts hang out.

Captain Marryat's Settlers in Canada is another possibility. But Ballantyne sounds more likely.
