Welcome to the group, where we can talk about books we love to read, and maybe find authors we have not yet come across to read.
I came to find the prehistoric books after I ran across Jean M. Auel's books,
My Fav author has to be Kathleen O'Neal Gear, what is yours?

Mr. and Mrs. Gear are my favorites in this genre also.

Not favorites, but I enjoyed reading books by Linda Lay Shuler, also Sue Harrison.

I really enjoy Kathleen's books, I can't wait for the next in line..

Notelinks, I also enjoy Linda Lay, but no new books has she put out in a long time.

Sun Harrison is also one of my Fav. I heard she had a new book coming out, but for some reason it died at the printers ( correct me if I am wrong please)
I was never so disappointed in my life..

Jean Auel is the only author in the genre I have read so far but just from reading this thread I have some ideas of what to try next :)

A couple of interesting books that I feel fall into the prehistoric fiction realm is Stephen Baxters Evolution. It's an epic novel that uses the evolution of life on earth as its background. Harry Harrison also wrote a neat Alternate History Prehistoric Novel Series that stared with West of Eden. The main premise is that dinosaurs don't become extinct, but become sentient along side humanoids. I recommend both.
