Decades of keeping the eye open. The bookends at yard sale/flea markets, the pot keeper from Crafts 2000 a while back. I think I bought the mousie new, but I've had him so long, I can't remember.

Others I'll post later have been gifts.

I used to be a childrens' librarian, and hope to do it someday again. Always, always on the look out for the cutie-patooties.

I've also got some collectible vintage buttons with a bookish theme. I'll try to remember to scan them.

I have a lot of Beatrix Potter thingies on the shelf with the rest of the Beatrix Potter books and Beatrix Potter-related books, and there's some Lord of the Rings-inspired handbuilt sculpture with my Tolkieniana (strangely, my Alice in Wonderland shelf has not yet been affected, it just has books). And my favourite bookends depict a little girl craning her neck to get a drink of water from a lion-head fountain, which reminds me so much of Lucy Pevensie (and has done for the 40 years I've treasured it, I bought it when I was a teenager) although there's no such scene in the Narnia books.

This is my Librarian with a collection of Unseen University related miniature books. (Some are Hogwarts titles, because Terry Pratchett in all the Discworld books doesn't actually mention a whole lot of titles.)

Edited to add: Photos not showing, even though I'm following the instructions posted here (http://www.librarything.com/topic/35356) and the Flickr settings show the photos are public. I tried Picasa first, but they no longer have "link to this photo" showing. So frustrating....

One of my nicest bookshelves was commandeered for clean towels and blankets in the laundry room because we moved to a place with no linen closet. In similar fashion my kids grew up and their kid dressers were too small so I donated my dresser. Now one of the former bookshelves is half books, a quarter underwear and a quarter socks. Not as beautiful as the other pictures here but I will still try to send one when I get a round tuit.

Libraryhermit, if you have any spare tuits, send them my way. I could use them all.

oh my! That cat in the crescent is pretty special. What is the book it matches so well? oh, that's part of the bookend! Nice!

I do have another pair of cat bookends, but there are no books incorporated so have not included a photo here. I am going to have to hunt around my house and see what else is lurking.... :-)

They were there first, and will not be chased away, not even when I bring out the cat buttons. They are actually rats, and have not damaged the manuscript. I think they might be working on a translation.

This thread needs resurrection, here on All Hallows Eve, no? I found it through the Tattered But Still Lovely group. I love the various bookends. And the pot bellies. Here's mine, with a couple other tchotchkes besides:

After I was given a bunch of non-L'Amour Westerns, it morphed into a Western shelf, then when I needed a place to air a couple of musty books, it was the only/best available space (see them on the right with pages fanned), and then the odds and ends of bric-a-brac took up residence.

Just a shelf for Faulkner. I have an entire bookcase devoted to my Doc Savage collection. True, the bookcase is very narrow, but it does look pretty cool with all those black spined books.
