As today is the Feast of St. Hildegard of Bingen, and the Pope will in a few weeks (Oct. 7) declare her a Doctor of the Church, I thought it might be fun to suggest and discuss some possibilities for her doctoral nickname (like Thomas Aquinas as the Doctor Angelicus and St. Augustine as the Doctor Gratiae).
My suggestions:
*Doctor Visionis (Doctor of Vision/Seeing)
*Doctor Viriditatis (Doctor of Viridity/Greenness)
*Doctor Symphoniae (Doctor of Symphony -- see Symphonia)
*Doctor Divini Operis (Doctor of Divine Work, riffing on Liber Divinorum Operum)
(You can read my supporting arguments for each title here.)
